Instead of an abrupt cutoff without explanation, users who opened the app in recent days were greeted with a short farewell message instead of their usual data-saving dashboard. The message in the app clearly said, “This is the final version of the app and the service will be available until June 15, 2026.”
After today, the VPN connection and all background data saving features will stop working. The application itself will not automatically delete itself from your smartphone; instead, it will likely just sit on your home screen as a “dead shell” until you decide to manually uninstall it.
Finding an alternative
So far, Samsung has not announced a like-for-like successor to fill the void. This may change, as seen when Google scrapped its premium One VPN, but later ensured that Google will fully launch the VPN for Pixel users as a built-in system feature.
