Police say the bodies of killed, injured are being shifted to the hospital, emergency imposed on Sarai Naurang hospital

At least seven people were killed and more than 18 others injured in an explosion in Sarai Naurang area of Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Tuesday, hospital sources said.
According to the police, the blast happened near Naurang level crossing.
Initially, hospital administration officials confirmed five deaths and more than 10 injured, while later updates from hospital sources said the death toll had risen to seven.
Hospital sources said two traffic police personnel were among those killed in the blast, while the injured included a woman and children.
Police said the bodies of those killed and the injured were shifted to the hospital while emergency measures had been put in place at the Sarai Naurang Hospital.
KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi took notice of the blast and requested the Inspector General of Police for a report on the incident.
“The martyrdom of two traffic police personnel and five civilians in the incident is deeply tragic,” he said.
The chief minister said the provincial government shared the grief of the victims’ families and would extend all possible help. He also directed the authorities to ensure the best possible medical facilities to the injured.

KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi condemned the blast and expressed deep grief over the death of innocent people.
In a statement, the governor expressed sympathy with the families of the victims and said he shared their grief at this difficult time.
He also expressed good wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured in the blast and said the increasing incidents of terrorism across the province, especially in the southern districts, was deeply alarming.
He urged the provincial government to take serious and practical measures to uphold the rule of law and ensure lasting peace.
The governor said terrorists involved in shedding blood of innocent people did not deserve any leniency and described them as enemies of peace and humanity in the province.
He added that the sacrifices made by the people of the province, the police and the security forces in the fight against terrorism would not go in vain.
