ShinyHunters reveals data on Mytheresa, Zara, Carnival, 7-Eleven – over 40 organizations tied up in new data pile that will stay up ‘indefinitely’

  • ShinyHunters has reportedly leaked sensitive data from around 40 large organisations, including retailers, insurance companies and hospitality firms.
  • The leaks reportedly involve millions of records and terabytes of internal data, with Medtronic alone linked to nine million compromised records.
  • The group has abandoned encryption and focuses exclusively on data exfiltration, promising to keep stolen information available on criminal platforms.

Notorious ransomware operators ShinyHunters apparently went on a leaking spree earlier this week, releasing sensitive data about around 40 different organizations.

In a recently released report, Cybernews says the group leaked data from Mytheresa, Zara, Carnival, 7-Eleven, Pitney Bowes, The Canada Life Assurance Company and Hallmark. These are all large organizations with millions of customers. Medtronic, Aman Resorts and Marcus & Millichap, among others, were also mentioned for having their data published.
