- Smeg has launched its breakfast appliances in a new color variant: Moonlight
- It is a warm cream shade with a soft matte finish
- The set includes a drip coffee machine, two-slice toaster and electric kettle
The Smeg Drip Filter coffee maker is one of our all-time favorite coffee makers, thanks to its smart design, programmable timers, ability to brew a large batch of coffee at once and simple interface. Now it has a fresh new look that brings it completely up to date and eschews glossy finishes and sugar tones for something more modern and subtle.
Moonlight is a new soft shade of dark cream that is an ideal match for the more natural colors and textures that dominate modern kitchen design, making a refreshing break from bold hues and shiny chrome.
Smeg are keen to point out that the soft, neutral shade of Moonlight is timeless and will work with any modern kitchen, but we’ve certainly seen a shift towards muted shades recently. Pantone’s Color of 2026 is a creamy shade called Cloud Dancer, for example, while KitchenAid has released all of its automatic coffee machines in subtle Porcelain White with a satin finish.
Moonlight is a similar shade, but warmer, with a matte finish that helps it blend in with the rest of the room and, according to Smeg’s designers, “makes functional moments feel calmer and more intentional.”
It’s not just the coffee machine either – the company has also given its ’50s-style kettle and two-slice toaster the Moonlight treatment. All three are now available direct from Smeg’s online store at £189.95 each for the toaster and kettle and £219.95 for the coffee machine.
Do you like what you see? The company says Moonlight will be available across select cookers, fridges, hoods and mixer taps later this year, so you can make your whole kitchen a little more relaxing.
