- Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed Grand Theft Auto 6‘s release date
- He says the game will launch on November 19th
- He adds that Rockstar is looking to “do something that’s never been done before,”
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has once again confirmed Grand Theft Auto 6‘s release date, so it looks like fans won’t have to worry about any further delays.
In a street interview with popular TikTok account The School of Hard Knocks (via GameSpot), Zelnick was asked about his business before entering the GTA 6.
When asked when the highly anticipated game will be released, the CEO confirmed it GTA 6 will be launched on 19 November this year. But why is it taking so long to come out, 13 years later GTA 5 to be precise?
According to Zelnick, “The team at Rockstar is really looking to do something that’s never been done before. It’s really hard and it takes a long time.”
The CEO added that Take-Two earned $6.7 billion in revenue last year alone, and this year is expected to hit $8 billion, likely due to GTA 6‘s upcoming release and its estimated day one sales of 25 million copies.
He then offered some business advice, saying people should “never compromise your integrity. It’s all you’ve got,” and they need to stick to their word “without a doubt.”
“I have faults. There was a time when I acted in a way that was inconsistent with my views on integrity in business. It really hurt me and I learned a powerful lesson. Never do that,” Zelnick said.
He added: “I think everyone is looking for an overnight success. My experience is that the only overnight success is someone else’s. Anything worth doing is hard and takes a long time,” before offering some career advice.
“People should chase the intersection of what they’re good at and what they like to do with an emphasis on what you’re good at,” he said. “Do that thing and the world will probably open up to you.”
Despite sticking to the game’s new release date after a six-month delay, Zelnick recently suggested that GTA 6 is more than a year late.
He also said that marketing for the game will start soon, which could mean that the long-awaited third trailer could finally drop sometime this summer.
