The WC is well under way and we have seen players from all corners of the world shine on the sport’s biggest stage.
We have also seen players of all ages shine on the pitch so far in the tournament. While most players can legally purchase an alcoholic beverage in the three host countries – the United States, Mexico and Canada – some are so young that they cannot legally drink.
To drink legally in the United States, you must be at least 21 years old, and some players in the World Cup are a few years away from enjoying their first beer. In Canada, the legal drinking age is determined by province and territory, but you must be 18 or 19 to drink, and not all players meet these thresholds.
