Adam Sandler officiated Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s recent wedding, but it remained a top secret until the big day came, one of the attendees revealed.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s friend Jonathan Thomas, CEO of American Century Investments, shared that the guests couldn’t believe Sandler would work and initially thought it was a “joke.”
“He came down, everyone laughed and thought it was a joke at first,” he recounted Composition and Friends podcast hosts Sean Russo and Downtown Josh Brown.
Thomas went on to share additional details about the event, “He actually spoke for 20 or 30 minutes, vacillating between funny, very sincere, singing a couple of things. There are two things that I distinctly remember, one is in your typical vows that the judge says, ‘Too rich or too poor,’ and he said, ‘You don’t have to worry about that net worth,’ the couple has to worry about the net worth.”
He noted that Happy Gilmore star told the couple to “Kiss each other every day, in the morning, at night after dinner, just kiss often.”
Thomas recalled that Swift and Kelce’s 30-minute vows were deeply emotional and vulnerable and brought “all these 300-pound men from the football business to tears, too, so I felt really comfortable letting it go,” and no eyes were left dry when they read them.
