- An apparent Best Buy affiliate promotion email suggests Grand Theft Auto 6The pre-order date is set for May 18, 2026
- The duration of the campaign is set between 18 May and 21 May
- Take-Two Interactive will have its earnings call on May 21st
Rockstar Games’ planned November 19, 2026, launch date for the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 remains in doubt after several delays. However, a new leak suggests that the release date may actually be locked in.
Best Buy has reportedly leaked the pre-order date for GTA 6 via an associated email, first reported by content creator Frogboyx1Gaming. The email lists an affiliate promotion labeled ‘GTA 6 Pre Order (Physical Game)’ running from May 18th to May 21st, strongly suggesting that pre-orders will open on May 18th.
The email has since been confirmed by delicious Tom Henderson and several users online and on Reddit, and with Take-Two Interactive’s earnings call set for May 21, the timing is right.

However, Rockstar has been quite unpredictable in its marketing of its games, especially amid all the theories about when the next trailer will arrive.
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has previously stated that marketing for the game would begin in the summer of 2026, and it’s not even summer yet. There is a decent chance that marketing could start much earlier (ie from May 18th), but history tells us that the procedure might not go exactly as fans predict.
One thing is almost certain: an update on GTA 6 is likely imminent as earnings call edges closer, especially on May 21, when Best Buy’s supposed affiliate promotion ends.
I’d love to eat my words if a third trailer drops and the doors open for pre-orders, but maybe it’s better to be cautious about the excitement level right now.
