Trump Asks for ‘Restraining Order’ Against Giorgia Meloni: Here’s Why

United States (US) President Donald Trump has reignited his feud with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the eve of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in Turkiye.

The 47th POTUS hilariously asked for a “restraining order” against Meloni. After both leaders attended the summit, Trump took to his own Truth Social platform and shared a photo of the Italian prime minister looking at him.

He captioned the photo: “TREATMENT NEEDED.” The Italian Prime Minister has not yet responded to the post.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto declined to comment on Trump’s post. In an interview with Italy’s Sky TV, Crosetto said: “I did not react. The basic thing is to maintain relations with an important ally like the United States.”

He added that people come and go, but the relationship between the countries has continued.

This comes after the two leaders exchanged heated words after the G7 summit in France, when the US president told the media that Meloni “begged” him to take a photo with her, a claim that was flatly denied by the Italian prime minister.

Meloni described Trump’s version of events as a “made up story.”

The fallout between the two appeared to have ignited after President Trump criticized Pope Leo, who criticized Trump’s war on Iran and has been a vocal critic of Trump’s anti-immigration crackdown.
