Taylor Swift’s official website briefly displayed a cryptic countdown clock that sent fans into a frenzy.
But after about 10 minutes the countdown disappeared.
The clock is set to expire at 1 p.m. CT / 2 p.m. ET on May 2 with blue and white cloud images.
This is a direct visual indication of Pixar’s Toy Story franchise. Even the background looked like the iconic wallpaper from Andy’s room.
It remains to be seen whether the disc’s appearance is coincidental or part of a promotional strategy, as Swift’s management did not make any statements about the teaser. The pictures of the counter have very quickly gone viral on the internet.
The perfect timing has led to speculation. Toy Story 5 is set to be released on June 19, 2026, which happens to be the exact 20th anniversary of the day Swift’s debut single, “Tim McGraw,” was released on June 19, 2006.
If the teaser is any indication of a potential soundtrack collaboration, then this won’t be the first time Swift has dipped her toes into film music. Some examples of her collaborations include songs for Hannah Montana: The Movie, The Hunger Games (which earned her a Grammy for “Safe & Sound”), Fifty Shades Darker, Cats and Where the Crawdads Sing.
Some fans even tied the countdown to her wedding date. But the watch’s aesthetic resembled Disney and Pixar more than a personal message.
