Microsoft delays corporate Outlook transition to 2027, says move will ‘ensure organizations have the time they need to prepare’

  • New Outlook opt-out phase pushed from April 2026 to March 2027
  • Microsoft wants to “continue to deliver key features and improvements”
  • Companies have also given “the time they need to prepare” for the shift

Just weeks before the previously set deadline of April 2026, Microsoft has announced that it will delay the opt-out phase for businesses to upgrade to the new Outlook by about a year to March 2027.

The opt-out phase will see the new version of the email provider become the standard of experience, but businesses may choose to opt-out during this temporary phase as they struggle to roll out the update more efficiently.
