Bahrain Commander-in-Chief praises role of armed forces in promoting regional peace, stability in meeting with CDF Munir

ISPR says two sides are discussing issues of mutual interest, regional security and defense cooperation

Bahrain National Guard General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa on Tuesday appreciated the Pakistan Army’s role in promoting regional peace and stability during a meeting with the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Bahrain’s National Guard Chief called on CDF Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where the two sides discussed issues of mutual interest, the regional security environment and opportunities for enhanced bilateral defense and security cooperation.

“Both dignitaries expressed satisfaction over the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and Bahrain and stressed the importance of further strengthening military-to-military cooperation,” the ISPR said.

The Bahrain National Guard chief also separately called on Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.

“At the Naval Headquarters, the meeting focused on bilateral defense cooperation and regional security dynamics. The Bahraini National Guard Chief praised the Pakistan Navy’s constructive role in promoting cooperative maritime security across the region and expressed appreciation for its role as a regional maritime security stabilizer,” ISPR said.

The statement added that during the meeting at the Air Headquarters, the Air Chief highlighted Pakistan Air Force’s modernization efforts, including capability enhancement, infrastructure development, indigenization and advanced training reforms.

“Discussions focused on emerging defense technologies such as drones, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, advanced sensors and digital innovation, as well as evolving air defense challenges and integrated defense architectures,” it added.

According to the ISPR, the Bahraini commander appreciated the professionalism and operational readiness of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

“He also praised the Pakistan Armed Forces’ modernization initiatives and indigenous capabilities and expressed interest in further cooperation in training, new technologies and capacity building initiatives,” the statement said.

The ISPR said the visit reflected the strong and enduring defense partnership between Pakistan and Bahrain and was expected to further promote bilateral military cooperation for the mutual benefit of both brotherly nations.

Earlier in the morning, the Commander-in-Chief of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Rodolphe Haykal, called on CDF Munir at GHQ, where both discussed regional security, defense cooperation and prospects for strengthening bilateral military ties.

According to the ISPR, the visiting guard was presented a guard of honor by a smartly deployed Tri Services contingent on his arrival at GHQ.

“During the meeting, both dignitaries exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, evolving regional security environment, defense cooperation and prospects for strengthening bilateral military relations,” the statement added.

The ISPR said the discussions focused on strengthening professional interactions, training cooperation and institutional linkages between the armed forces of the two countries.
