Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met his Bangladeshi counterpart, Salahuddin Ahmed, where both sides agreed to increase cooperation in areas of mutual interest, the interior ministry said on Friday.
According to the notice on X, training and exchange programs for police officers were discussed at the meeting. The two ministers also agreed to strengthen cooperation to prevent cybercrime and online fraud.
“The ministers also held a detailed discussion on the US-Iran conflict and the current situation in the Middle East,” the post added.
Ahmed appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in establishing peace.
Naqvi said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defense Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir had played “an unforgettable role for peace”, adding that “we must seize new opportunities to further strengthen our mutual ties”.

Earlier, Naqvi met UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the UN headquarters in New York.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the regional situation and a number of international issues.

During the meeting, Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at ending conflicts in West Asia, as well as UN peacekeeping initiatives, with particular emphasis on Pakistan’s long-standing and invaluable contribution to UN peacekeeping operations, were also focused. The UN Secretary General appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting peace, a press release issued here said.
